WHAT IS AN FAA DER?
approve data (drawings, sketches, analysis, etc.) by FAA Form 8110-3.

WHY DO I NEED AN FAA-DER?
You need a Designated Engineering Representative (DER) of the FAA when there is no
documented approved data for a major repair or alteration.

WHY USE AN FAA CONSULTANT DER?
Consultant DER engineering support minimizes delays and prevents cancellations by
providing approved data in minutes not hours or days.  Does the OEM do that?

WHEN ARE YOU AVAILABLE?
We are available day and night and weekends too.

WHO DOES THE CONSULTANT DER WORK FOR?
You.  We are regulated by the FAA-ACO but independent of the OEM.  You need better
options like salvaging the part, specializing the repair or deviating from accepted practice.  An
FAA DER can approve these options.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A COMPANY DER AND A
CONSULTANT DER?
A Company DER's authority is limited to within his company's product and policies.  A
Consultant DER's authority extends to most aircraft and his own policies.

DOES A DER SIGN OFF OF A 337?
No.  We may approve the supporting documentation by Form 8110-3.
"Not why we can't, but why we can."
